I'm Ruth Alice White of Columbia Md. My husband David gave me a 60th
birthday party with 4 singer-writers performing. I asked him who he wanted
for his 70th party and he chose just one - Pat Wictor. We are both huge
fans of Pat. I saw the info about this book discussion in Pat Wictor's
email. I read quite a bit - not usually the Odyssey. But I thought it may
be an interesting experience. I am very interested in Jungian dream work,
and am in 2 small dream sharing groups. The reading and workshops on
Jungian thought and dreams of course talk about the archetypes. There are
many kinds of archetypes but some of the earliest are the Greeks gods and
goddesses, who are prominent figures in the Odyssey.

I've been in a teleconference book discussion only once before. A local
friend of mine organised one on his favorite novel, Daniel Martin; that was
a fascinating experience.

I am listening to this version of the Odyssey from Audible.com
www.audible.com/adbl/site/products/ProductDetail.jsp?productID=BK_PARM_000003&BV_UseBVCookie=YesOdyssey<http://www.audible.com/adbl/site/products/ProductDetail.jsp?productID=BK_PARM_000003&BV_UseBVCookie=YesOdyssey%20%20%20>
(and I also bought the book from www.half.ebay.com/ - my favorite source for
cheap used books).

My husband and I are both retired, and we live with our dog Shadow. I have
a grown daughter and he has a son - both from prior marriages. We love many
many singer-songwriters, and have been to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival
several times, but not in recent years. We are going to the World Folk
Music Association festival next weekend in Alexandria VA. www.wfma.net.

PS Roland - thanks for mentioning Haiti. I contributed online right away to
Doctors Withouit Borders.
