Hi. I'm Tim Kieschnick. I live in the San Francisco Bay area with my wife, my 11 year-old daughter, a dog, and however many of my tropical fish have not yet succumbed to my spotty maintenance habits.

I play several musical instruments and write songs, mostly in the folk/blues/roots tradition, which seems to be a theme for this reading group. Maybe after Homer we can swap songs.

In between reading the Odyssey, I'll be working on Kaiser Permanente's web site and building a tiny cottage in my back yard. I last read the Odyssey in college in 1976. I'm re-reading it on my newest toy, a Kindle, which I won in an essay contest (how cool is that?!).

I've got a potentially very stressful meeting just prior to our discussion tomorrow, so I may show up late and frazzled, but I'm really looking forward to meeting y'all and sharing the epic together.
