[Iliad1] Welcome to the Iliad1 reading group!

[Nan Okarma]

Hi! 

My name is Nan Okarma and this is my 5th Reading Odyssey. I've participated in Thucydides, Xenophon, Herodotus, The Odyssey, and Arrian's Campaigns of Alexander. I joined the Reading Odyssey because of my love for ancient history, and the person who introduced me to the group is someone whom I respect and admire so when he mentioned it to me, I had to check it out. I studied Latin, which I loved, in High School which also adds to my reason for joining. 

I work in Finance and Accounting in the pharmaceutical industry and am currently the Director of Accounting Operations for a pharmaceutical company in MA. Although I have a very analytical mind, being a CPA and working with numbers, I also have a creative side as I studied music and piano for 10 or so years as a teen. 

I am looking forward to more fascinating, stimulating discussions in the coming months from the group.
