Hi folks--
Just wanted to get you up and running on our list. Emails sent to homer2010 at readingodyssey.org
will go to all the folks who signed up to read this time--I believe
there's 20 of us.
By now, you were all individually sent the call-in info, call
schedule, and reading questions, so I won't go over those here.
I would like to invite all of you to send a short note to the list, to
introduce yourself, and let us know what led you to be interested in
"The Odyssey."
I'll go first, just to give you an idea of what I mean:
Hi everyone--my name is Pat Wictor. I'm a touring singer-songwriter,
slide guitarist, and "roots" musician based in Brooklyn, NY. I helped
co-found the Reading Odyssey with my dear friend Phil Terry, and we've
been reading the classics for the past five years. I don't have any
specialized knowledge of the classics, nor any superior skill in
reading them--neither, in my opinion, is a requirement for making the
effort. As a songwriter and a citizen, I traffic in words and ideas,
and I have an ongoing hunger to be immersed in the brilliant ideas and
creations of humanity.
I'm acquainted with many of you, and others not so well--would
certainly love to hear a little bit about you. Post away, and talk to
you all on Tuesday, Jan. 19!
Warm regards,
Pat
