[Iliad1] Welcome to the Iliad1 reading group!

Hello Andre and Fellow Travelers 
I'm Alan Davis and have been working my way through the Greek classics over the last several years so I look forward joining you in this voyage of discovery in exploring the Iliad. Am looking for insights and enduring themes that have relevancy in and for today's challenges, situations and leaders especially in the context of military operations. 

This is my third Reading Odyssey group, Herodotus and Arrian were my two previous groups. Additionally listened to the Marathon lectures.  

 I reside in central NJ where I enjoy semi-retirement from running an advertising/promotional agency and being Army Reserve senior officer. To keep from being under foot, I work for FEMA part time and as a consultant for an US Army acquisition agency doing senior leadership development programs, staff rides at Revolutionary battles and communications planning. 

 Andre: Look forward to reading with you again and thanks for taking on this challenge.
